RIP Ellie Greenwich
Just saw an article about the passing of Ellie Greenwich at age 68. She was a Brooklyn native and a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Some of the songs she wrote or co-wrote:
Chapel of Love
Be My Baby
Leader of the Pack
Da Doo Ron Ron
River Deep, Mountain High
Baby, I Love You
Do Wah Diddy Diddy
Look of Love
And she was a co-producer of Neil Diamond's "Cherry, Cherry" and "Kentucky Woman."

She will certainly be missed. I have always been a big fan of the songwriting teams that churned out all the hits from the Brill Building. It's odd that many of the pop tunes from that group of writers, were dismissed as "pop fluff" in the 60.s. Ironically, today, they sound like symphonies compared to the atonal drivel heard in most contemporary pop music. May peace be with you Ellie.
