Dad left us last night .

Post by Neil Lang »

My dad, George, left us around 9:15 last night. He was full of life right up until the end. We played Cribbage several times a week, he still loved to SKUNK me, and he still could. He was 90. We had him to our daughter Stephanies home for a party and spend some time in the old "family swing" and visited. Took him back to the rest home at 7:30, he told the staff what a great evening he had. He died suddenly at 9:15.
Mom went last December, now he will be with her once again. Forever.
RIP............DAD & MOM.

Neil, I'm sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. Your Dad lived a great life right up until the end and was full of zest until he lost the love of his life recently, your Mom. Praying for your family.

Having lost my own Dad a few years ago, I know how you must feel now. I'm glad that his last hours were full of happiness, and I believe he took that with him into the next world. I hope that God will comfort you and give you strength during this time, and I'm glad that you had such a gread Dad.

So sorry Neil to hear of your dad's passing. What concerns me as well is the loss of your mother just a few months ago. I lost my mother three years ago so I know the miserable pain of losing a parent. You have experienced great loss in such a short time. My prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family. Time does help ease the pain but no one ever gets over such a loss. Best wishes.

Thanks so much guys. The cards are still coming in, he was a GREAT guy, and was for sure a "giver". It was a large funeral for such and old fellow. Its been a bit tough, lost Mom, Dad and Chino our dog (Chu hua hua.) of 13yrs, all in about six months. They loved and cared for the dog many times over the years. Dad came down that day Chino died and we all had a good cry. That was 3 weeks to the day before Dad left us.
Thanks again, the Love of the Lord, Time and all the words of comfort will heal.
