Hargus "Pig" Robbins

Post by Diane Diekman »

My fourth Country Music Hall of Famer biography will be on Hargus "Pig" Robbins. I'm looking for any information about his life and would love to interview anyone who knew him or has stories that should be remembered about him.

Great for you. Of course you know Lloyd Green is your man to ask.

I'm afraid I don't have any info to give you, but I'll be the first in line to read it.
He's a hero of mine.

Have you spoken with Gordon Mote?

Looking forward to reading it.
What little I've already read about the A-Team's sessions in the '60 with Bob from Hibbing is epic and legendary. Especially the night some of the players were so drunk they decided that Pig was in the best shape to drive. Urban legend, or true?

It's true. Willie Ackerman let Pig drive his car through the alley behind the studio. Willie hunkered down on the passenger side so he wasn't visible. I have interviewed Lloyd and Gordon. Both Billy Sanford and Charlie McCoy have promised interviews.
